"His plan to increase the sales tax further is regressive and would
serve to balance the budget on the backs of the small business owners
and hard-working middle class residents of this City, who already face
steep increases in water rates and transit fares. Instead, I once again
advocate for a temporary increase in the Personal Income Tax on
individuals making $500,000 or more annually. Amid this recession, no
one should be immune, and we must ensure that any financial burdens are
spread more equitably."

York City. Wednesday the voices calling for a break from the status quo
grew louder when several prominent Manhattan elected officals -- including Eric Schneiderman, Daniel O’Donnell, Deborah J. Glick, Micah Kellner -- endorsed

Bloomberg to seek a 3rd term as Mayor -- saying, "It is not the role of
this court to interject itself into city politics."
