  • Spearheaded an initiative allowing City funds to be deposited in the following bank branches in underserved communities:

    • Carver Federal Savings Bank (South Central Harlem)
    • Carver Federal Savings Bank (Northern Harlem)
    • New York National Bank (Roosevelt Island)
    • Banco Popular North America (Lower East Side)
    • Citibank (Central Harlem)
    • North Fork Bank (Lower East Side) 
    • North Fork Bank (East Harlem). 
  • Through its Economically Targeted Investments program, the New York City Pension Funds have directly and indirectly invested $331.1 million dollars to create and rehabilitate 10,802 units of single and multi family housing in Manhattan.
  • The Funds have invested/committed $65 million dollars in residential and commercial projects in Harlem through its Real Estate Program.  (Total Manhattan numbers coming on Monday).  
  • Consumer Banking Day at Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in May of 2007.
