News » Organization of Staff Analysts (OSA) Endorses Bill Thompson for Mayor

Posted on October 15, 2009

New Yorkers for Thompson today announced that the Organization of Staff Analysts (OSA) has endorsed Bill Thompson for mayor of New York City.

OSA, which represents nearly 5,000 municipal employees in more than 50 City agencies, cited Bill’s advocacy for working families, including his push to create jobs and make New York more affordable by reducing the taxes, fees, and fare hikes that are squeezing New Yorkers.

“The Organization of Staff Analysts Executive Board has voted to endorse Bill Thompson for mayor because we believe he is the best candidate to address the challenges facing the hardworking men and women of our City,” said OSA’s Chairperson Robert Crogan. “After 8 years of a mayor who caters to the Manhattan elite, New Yorkers deserve a leader who will fight for them. On November 3, vote Bill Thompson for our next mayor.”

For over 30 years, OSA has been the official collective bargaining agent for City employees in various agencies including the NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA), the Health and Hospitals Corporation (HCC), and the Transit Authority (TA). Their endorsement of Bill Thompson’s mayoral bid highlights the degree to which Mike Bloomberg has failed to address the needs and concerns of middle-class New Yorkers.

Of their endorsement, Bill said “I am proud and honored to have the support of the Organization of Staff Analysts as I fight to be a mayor for all New Yorkers. You deserve more than four more years of false rhetoric and empty promises. On Election Day, the men and women of our great City will make it resoundingly clear that eight years of Mike Bloomberg is enough.”
