News » Thompson Campaign Drops Latest TV Spot Hypocrite
New Yorkers for Thompson today unveiled its newest television commercial, “Hypocrite.” The 30-second spot, which hits airwaves this Saturday, exposes Republican Mike Bloomberg’s $200 million attempt to rewrite history and distort Bill Thompson’s record.
In the spot, Bill speaks to New Yorkers, reminding them that the Mayor overturned term limits and that as a result of his failed policies middle class families are being squeezed out of the city. It also cites a speech given by Bloomberg in which he says Thompson “will go down in history as maybe the best comptroller the city has ever had.”
The commercial comes on the heels of endorsements by Amsterdam News, El Diario and President Barack Obama. It also comes after Tuesday night's first mayoral debate, which Thompson was decisively declared the winner.
The ad will run on network and cable television.

“Hypocrite”
THOMPSON: Republican Mayor Michael Bloomberg threw out term limits. Now he's spending millions of dollars distorting my record to be able to stay in office. But here's what he really thinks:
BLOOMBERG: Bill, you should know, has been comptroller of the city of New York for the same length of time I have been mayor and I think he will go down in history as maybe the best comptroller the city has ever had.
THOMPSON: Thanks, Mike there’s only one issue. Will you be able to afford to live here if Mike Bloomberg's reelected? It's time to put City Hall back on the side of the middle class
